The Nigerian Army has opened applications for eligible Nigerians seeking commission into the Army as Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Officers.
The recruitment is open to qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements.
The Army in a statement said successful candidates will undergo training and, upon commissioning, serve in the Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
Applicants are required to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng select the SSCC option and follow the application instructions.
The Army warned members of the public to disregard any online application portal or recruitment announcement purportedly opened before the official publication.
It also advised prospective applicants to rely solely on information released through official Nigerian Army channels and to watch for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations.
The application deadline is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
