The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has announced plans to rename an ancillary building at its Corporate Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after the late pioneer Chairman of the Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall, OFR.
The Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, Mr Chiedu Ebie, Esq., made the announcement during a tribute to the late statesman, whom he described as a transparent administrator.
Ebie also directed that flags at the NDDC headquarters, state offices and Abuja Liaison Office be flown at half-mast for seven days in honour of Horsfall.
It said, Managing Director/CEO of the commission, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, acknowledged Horsfall’s significant contributions to the development of the Niger Delta, describing him as a visionary leader whose pioneering efforts helped lay the foundation for subsequent development interventions in the region.
Ogbuku said the tribute reflected the Commission’s culture of recognising individuals who had contributed meaningfully to the Niger Delta, while urging staff and stakeholders to strive to leave enduring legacies.
