Kenya Airways has met with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following the viral incident involving Nigerian passenger Gloria Omisore. The airline admitted its fault in allowing her to board a Lagos-Nairobi-Paris flight despite requiring a transit visa for Paris.
This was made known by The Director, Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at NCAA/Civil Aviation/Fixer/Comms, Michael Achimugu.
He said at the meeting, Kenya Airways apologized for its misleading official statement and acknowledged mishandling the situation. NCAA criticized the airline’s failure to provide proper care and condemned a staff member’s derogatory remark about Nigeria’s presidency. The airline pledged to review the matter, with potential disciplinary action pending from its Nairobi headquarters.
