The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed envy that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yilwatda made the remark on Tuesday during the flag-off of the construction of Collector Road CO1 from the Nile University area to Ring Road III and the extension of the Body of Benchers Road in Abuja.
Praising Wike for his performance as FCT Minister, the APC chairman described him as a “workaholic,” “ever-working,” and “tireless” public official.
“The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, you know that I’m jealous that you are in the PDP. I wish I could corner you and bring you to the APC,” Yilwatda said.
He added that he was pleased the PDP had “borrowed” Wike to the APC-led administration in 2023, noting that he had seen a letter informing the PDP’s National Working Committee of the arrangement.
Yilwatda commended Wike’s contributions to infrastructure development in the FCT, saying he did not expect the minister’s involvement in the APC-led government to result in such remarkable achievements.
He further remarked that Wike’s performance demonstrated that some PDP members were also capable of delivering results comparable to those of APC officials.
