A Fulani herder has reportedly stabbed a landlord identified as Pepple Donald in Bonny Island, Rivers State, over complaints that his cows were destroying his compound.
Sorces say the herder stabbed the landlord after he confronted him for defying his order not to pass through his compound with the cows again, on Tuesday.
An eyewitness said the herder first hit the victim with a stick on the head before stabbing him multiple times.
He also said the herder who rears cattle for an indigene of the area, immedeitely fled the community, and that the victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react the incident. Efforts to reach Spokesperson of the command has not been successful.
