The National Association of Primary Health Care Workers of Nigeria, has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Rivers State government to resolve all outstanding issues with health workers in the state or face court action.
Chairman of the association, Barr, Daniel Atiemie made this known in a chat with journalists, today.
According to him, months after the state government pleaded with the union to withdraw a suit against her, from the industrial court for a gentleman agreement, nothing has been done.
He explained that the union had dragged the government to court over non-payment of health care workers in Rivers State for a decade.
Non payment of Consolidated health Salary Structure to primary health care workers in Rivers State, Refusal to pay new National minimum wage and failure of the State government to obey her own law directing the transfer of Health worker’s Salary to the State government care.
He called on the Rivers State government to address the issues, as it affects legitimate Rights of Primary Health Care Workers in the state.
