The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Chisom Gbali, has condemned the alleged destruction of his campaign billboards across the constituency.
Gbali, in a trending video, described the act as unfortunate and deliberate, calling on political actors and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly during the electoral process.
He said political competition was part of democracy, stressing that differences in political opinions should not lead to the destruction of another person’s property or campaign materials.
“Our silence should not be mistaken for weakness, and our restraint should not be taken for granted,” Gbali said.
He assured supporters that the alleged destruction would not deter his campaign, adding that his message and commitment to the people of Eleme, Tai and Oyigbo remained unwavering.
Gbali also urged everyone involved in the political process to operate within the bounds of the law and respect the rights and property of other candidates.
