The management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Port Harcourt, has prohibited final-year students from holding signing-out ceremonies, vehicle parades and graduating parties on campus.
The directive was contained in a notice digned by Precious Eke on behalf of the Registrar and addressed to all final-year and graduating students currently sitting for their final examinations.
According to the notice, the ban was necessitated by the current security situation on campus, with management directing students to leave the university peacefully immediately after completing their final examinations.
The university warned that students who violate the directive would be rusticated and may also face the full weight of the law.
The notice urged all final-year students to cooperate with the directive, while wishing them success in their examinations.
Copies of the directive were sent to the deans of faculties, heads of departments, Chief Security Officer, Public Relations Officer and pasted on notice boards across the university.
