Fresh Manna 5 August
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Then he answered and spark unto me, saying, this is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbable, saying not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of Host.”(Zech.4:6)
READ: ISA.11:1-5
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
A proper description of the spirit of might can be seen in the life of Samson. On his way to Timnath. A young lion roared at him, with bare hand Samson catch and tore the lion apart. (Judg.14:5-6). With the Jew bore of an ass he killed one thousand philistines (judg.15:14-16). In Gaza as the philistines were waiting in ambush for him, at midnight, he got up pull out their city gate and carried them to the top of the mountain around Hebron (judg.16:3). The spirit of might was operational in the little shepherd boy of Bethlehem called David. That was why he boldly withstood both a lion and a bear and destroyed them with bare hands saving the sheep. In fact, it was this same Spirit that made him see the giant Goliath as only a dog that should be killed with stone (1Sam. 17:40-43).
The Spirit of might opens you up to see power and might of Jehovah while others may see Satan standing as a giant license to kill. Elijah could face the four hundred prophets and fifty prophets of the grove because the Spirit of might was upon him. This Spirit was uninterruptedly and present and operational in the ministry of Jesus Christ; that was why Demons could not stand His presence. The Spirit of might enables the saint, to perform great fits that are humanly impossible. The Spirit of might operates with unusual boldness, courage, strength and swiftness that destabilizes the enemy. Are you easily afraid, intimidated by the threat and manipulations of Satan around your life? Then pray for the outpouring of the Spirit of Might upon your life.
TURNING POINT: The Spirit of might enables the saint, to perform great fits that are humanly impossible.
PRAYER POINT: Spirit of might take over my life.
