Fresh Manna 26 November
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil (Eph.5:16)
READ: JOHN 9: 4
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
One dangerous philosophy of life I have discovered that robbed my people of the opportunity to move forward in life is the philosophy which says that,
“there will always be another opportunity”
The twenty-four hours of everyday is divided into two periods namely “Day” characterized by light and “Night” characterized by darkness. Activities are conveniently carried out during the day. The night is a period of inactivity, a period of rest and unconsciousness. Just like day and night, the human person is created to function according to seasons. There is the season of childhood, when one is totally dependent on others for sustenance and survival. This is followed by the season of youthfulness and strength when the individual is expected to make his own marks on the sand of history. Finally, the season of old age, full of happy memories of yesterday’s exploits or tears of regrets for yesterday’s failures and excesses.
Every good opportunity lost, creates a minus in the balance sheet of life. Sometimes some of such opportunities may be restored by God’s mercy and grace but the day and time wasted cannot be regained. In every sphere of life time management is very important. Avoid procrastination, because it is the grave yards of good intentions. Avoid shifting today’s responsibilities to tomorrow’s files because tomorrow has its own troubles and expectations.
Rest is important but don’t rest for two days when you have only worked for two hours, that is laziness. It should be the other way round.
TURNING POINT: Every good opportunity lost, creates a minus in the balance sheet of life.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, give me the wisdom to make proper use of every opportunity.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: EZEK.27,28; JAMES 4
