Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees in Rivers State, Clifford Paul says the programme by the Federal Government for civil servants to take mortgage loans for the building of houses is all encompassing.
Paul, said this during a one day Housing Fund sensitization workshop organized for workers in Port Harcourt.
He called on council workers to take advantage of the opportunity as it is a step in the right direction.
He stated that the scheme is voluntary in nature, adding that over 44 percent of council workers are indebted to banks.
The Federal Government launched the Staff Housing Loans Board scheme to provide houses for civil servants.
