MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mk. 1:15).
READ: MK.16:15-18
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Yesterday, we saw from our lesson that every human being on earth is here to fulfill a specific purpose in God’s agenda. Today, we see lots and lots of people walking the streets aimlessly obviously without plans and purpose. This does not show that God does not have plans for such people rather, it shows that they have not discovered their purpose in life.
The first step towards acknowledging your purpose in life is by acknowledging and following the God of purpose. Many people think that because they are educated and have bagged so many certificates, made so much money and wealth and are living comfortably then their purpose in life is actualized. This is not true because God’s purpose for everyone on earth extends from time to eternity.
Every achievement and fulfillment that offers you physically fulfillment and pleasure expire in this life. Jesus chose His Apostles, trained them and sent them forth to pursue and fulfill God’s assignment for their lives. Before they meet Christ, all of them were involved in one life pursuit or another but the moment they came to Christ, they were no longer living only for their physical fulfillment but vigorously pursue the advancement of God’s Kingdom. There are special and general assignments. The assignment recorded here in our focal scripture is a general assignment to all believers. There is no such gift as gift of evangelism in the Bible, evangelism is our supreme task, get involved.
TURNING POINT: There is no such gift as gift of evangelism in the Bible, evangelism is our supreme task, get involved.
PRAYER POINT: Father, help me to fulfill every assignment that You have giving to me in Jesus name. Amen.
