The family of a 13-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped and raped by seven young men in Port Harcourt has accused the IPO in charge of the case of demanding for N30,000 before arresting the suspects.
The sister of the victim, Charity Isaiah made the allegation in a chat with journalists and some human rights advocates in Port Harcourt today.
She said when they refused to pay the money, the IPO had to release the two suspects they had earlier arrested. She said her younger sister was adopted three months ago by one of boys who happens to be their neighbor and was taken to an unknown destination where she was repeatedly defiled.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the state command says said the IPO has denied the allegations. He notes that the command will investigate the matter and ensure that justice is served.
