Stakeholders in Rivers State will on Friday, September 18, 2026, stage a major anti-drug rally in Port Harcourt to mobilise residents against substance abuse and drug trafficking.
The campaign, organised by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in partnership with Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), is themed “Choose Life, Reject Drugs: Building a Drug-Free Generation.”
The procession will kick off at 7:30am from Rumuola Junction and end at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, where participants will march through major routes to create awareness.
The main event is scheduled for 11:00am at the Niger Delta Science School (NDSS) within the polytechnic.
The Commercial Drivers Welfare Association (CDWA), Rivers State, has also directed its branches to mobilise members for the rally.
CDWA leader, Comrade Christopher Ezeali, instructed each branch to provide two buses carrying executives and members to support the campaign.
Organisers said the participation of students, transport operators and community stakeholders would help strengthen the fight against drug abuse and promote safer communities across the state.
