Water Producers Association of Nigeria,  Rivers State Chapter has called on the Rivers state Government to allow them distribute water to homes during the lockdown in the state. State chairman of the association, Ebere Oderemati made the call yesterday in Port Harcourt.

He said they have been unable to operate due to the lockdown which restricts them from doing so. Oderemati who appealed to the government to allow them operate once in two days at stipulated times, said he will ensure his members obey all laid down directives of the state government.

Meanwhile, chairman of Master Baker, Kolawale Adelegon has called on Gov. Wike to give waivers to bakeries in the state. This is to ensure daily supply of bread to families during the lockdown, and avert imminent scarcity of bread beyond COVID-19.

This is coming after the total lockdown imposed in some areas of the state stopped the baking, production and distribution of essential commodities such as bread and water to residents.
