The Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon. Michael John Williams, has announced a ₦500,000 donation to a child named after him in Bille Kingdom, Rivers State.
Williams and some stakeholders visited the community for the Rainbow Coalition’s ward-to-ward sensitisation meeting in Ward 16.
In a video circulating online showing the sensitisation visit, a community leader drew the chairman’s attention to the child, explaining that the boy was born on the day of the visit and that his father named him after Williams to honour him.
The chairman announced the donation following the sensitisation meeting and also inspected the ongoing Sekiapu building project in the kingdom.
