Daily Manna 26 July
KEY VERSE: “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.” – (Isaiah 30:18)
TEXT: Isaiah 30:18-26
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem;
You shall weep no more.
He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry;
When He hears it, He will answer you.
20 And though the Lord gives you
The bread of adversity and the water of [a]affliction,
Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore,
But your eyes shall see your teachers.
21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.
22 You will also defile the covering of your images of silver,
And the ornament of your molded images of gold.
You will throw them away as an unclean thing;
You will say to them, “Get away!”
23 Then He will give the rain for your seed
With which you sow the ground,
And bread of the increase of the earth;
It will be [b]fat and plentiful.
In that day your cattle will feed
In large pastures.
24 Likewise the oxen and the young donkeys that work the ground
Will eat cured fodder,
Which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan.
25 There will be on every high mountain
And on every high hill
Rivers and streams of waters,
In the day of the great slaughter,
When the towers fall.
26 Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun,
And the light of the sun will be sevenfold,
As the light of seven days,
In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people
And heals the stroke of their wound.

There are so many things that we have that are meant to serve and meet our needs but they never get to serve their purposes except we activate them. Automobiles, for example, have the capacity to transport the owner with his goods to any destination he wishes to go. However, the automobile does not start on its own and set out on the trip. It usually waits for the owner to push the ignition button or turn the key before it roars into action. If the conditions guiding the effective functioning of the automobile or any other such facility are not met, those equipment will remain static and not serve their purposes except such conditions are met.
There are so many promises that God had made for the nation of Israel that they are not enjoying as a result of outright disobedience to His laws. Through Prophet Isaiah, God calls them to repentance and makes them to understand that all the blessings He has made provision for are still intact and available for them. Although God has made gracious provisions for all mankind, He will not force His grace and mercy on anyone. He will only give them to anyone who meets His terms of repentance and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, those who are not enjoying all the blessings of God presently should examine their lives before the mirror of God’s word. God is not unfaithful, neither are His promises untrue. Perhaps, it could be that you are not meeting the terms of His conditions. He waits for you to come to Him in repentance. He waits for you to put your faith, trust and confidence in Him. He waits for you to run into His hands and feel His warm embrace and all the love He has for you. Yes, He waits for you. Won’t you rather come to Him now?
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: He waits now but not forever!
