The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu, has approved the dissolution of the Obio/Akpor Road Decongestion Committee with immediate effect.

Chairman of the council, Hon. Gift Worlu, announced the decision, which followed the successful completion of the committee’s mandate. The mandate focused on tackling traffic congestion, curbing illegal roadside trading, and removing other obstructions along major roads within the local government area.

He commended the committee members for their dedication and contributions to restoring order and improving traffic flow across Obio/Akpor.

Worlu further directed all former members of the committee to return any council property, including identification materials, operational equipment, and other official items, to the Office of the Chief of Staff without delay.

The statement added that relevant departments within the council would sustain the progress made and continue to enforce traffic and environmental regulations across the area.
