Rivers State recorded 46 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 8,343 with 7,572 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Thursday.
In total Nigeria recorded 753 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 364, Akwa Ibom-141, Oyo-74, Rivers-46, Abia-38, Ogun-24, Kwara-20, FCT-12, Ekiti-10, Delta-9, Edo-6, Plateau-5 Imo-3 and Bayelsa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 180,661 with 166,560 recovered patients, and 2,200 deaths.
Meanwhile, the federal government has said that despite the spike in cases, there are no plans for a nationwide lockdown.
