A federal high court has ordered the Federal Government to pay Rivers and Akwa Ibom states the sum of $3 billion as part of their crude oil sales.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo gave the ruling on Tuesday, in a case filed by Attorney Generals of both states.
He said the amount formed shares of the two states from the $62 billion that was recovered by the Federal Government from some oil companies.
Justice Taiwo ordered that the sum of $1,114,551,610 be paid to Rivers State, while Akwa Ibom should be paid $2,258,411,586.
