Nigerian singers, Burna Boy and Tems have been nominated for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards.
While Burna Boy was nominated for Video Director of The Year, Tems got 4 nominations namely; Song of The Year, Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop Video and Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse on the song Wait for U by Future FT Tems and Drake.
African artists such as Bxckie, Nadia Nakai, and Black Sherif were also nominated for the Award which premiers Wednesday, October 5 2022.
Monde Twala, SVP/GM Paramount Africa and Peer Lead for BET International in a statement Today, said “it is really gratifying to see African artists take centre stage at these global awards and we continue to support and elevate black excellence through our platform.”
Drake leads this year’s Awards with 14 nominations, followed closely by Kanye West with 10 nominations, and Kendrick Lamar with nine nods
The event will be hosted by legendary rapper Fat Joe,
