Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons have regained their freedom after being abducted earlier in the week in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A senior police source confirmed the development to PUNCH Online on Saturday, stating that the victims were rescued overnight.
John-Paul and her children were kidnapped at Elewura-Challenge in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area when armed assailants intercepted their vehicle around 7:30 a.m. The attackers were reportedly said to have trailed them from their residence before carrying out the abduction.
The incident had sparked concerns over the growing insecurity in the state, coming months after the abduction of APC chieftain, Wale Oriade, by gunmen in Ibadan in December 2025.
Authorities are yet to release further details surrounding the rescue operation.
