Actor-turned-politician and Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, has failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to seek re-election for Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Elliot was defeated during the APC primary election held on Wednesday by Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, an aspirant reportedly backed by Femi Gbajabiamila.
Odunuga-Bakare secured 11,385 votes to defeat Elliot, who polled 270 votes across the wards in the constituency.
The outcome means Elliot will not return as the APC candidate for the constituency in the next legislative election.
