The Federal High Court has adjourned the case involving former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, over allegations of illegally bugging the phone of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The court fixed May 18, 19, and 20 for an accelerated hearing of multiple applications, including a ruling on El-Rufai’s bail request.
In its ruling, the court ordered that El-Rufai be remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
However, his counsel informed the court that the former governor is currently in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), where he is facing multiple cases.
Following the submission, the presiding judge directed both parties to resolve the issue of custody—whether El-Rufai should remain with the ICPC or be transferred to DSS custody—before the next hearing date.
