The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has affirmed the judgment of the Rivers National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal that declared the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, as the winner of the Rivers West Senatorial Election held on February 25, 2023.
Rivers PDP stakeholder – Joy Fagbemi in a statement said the appellant Court dismissed the appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate, Asita Honourable, on the grounds of unmeritorious.
The Election Petitions Tribunal had upheld the victory of the former Rivers state Deputy Governor.
