The Bonny Local Government Council has announced a series of interventions for the family of late Miss Queeneth Pepple, who died in tragic circumstances at Water Well Community on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The Council Chairman, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple announced the measures on Tuesday, September 15, during a condolence visit to the bereaved family.
Under the intervention, the Council approved a ₦3 million scholarship for Queeneth’s siblings to support their education following the loss of their sister.
The Chairman also approved the construction of a two-bedroom bungalow for the family, with instructions that the project be completed within four months.
Pepple expressed sympathy with the bereaved family, describing the loss as painful, and assured them of the Local Government’s continued support.
He said the Council would work with relevant authorities and security agencies to support efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding Queeneth’s death and ensure that justice is pursued.
“As a responsible government, anything we can do to ensure that your family gets justice, we will not relent. As a government, we are with you,” he said.
Responding to an appeal by Queeneth’s mother, Mrs. Greatness Pepple, the Council Chairman also approved a government-funded autopsy to help establish facts surrounding the circumstances of her daughter’s death.
The Chairman said the autopsy was important to the family and assured them that the Local Government would bear the associated cost.
Mrs. Greatness Pepple expressed appreciation to the Chairman for personally visiting the family and for the support provided by the Bonny Local Government Council during the period of mourning.
The Council said it would continue to liaise with relevant authorities as investigations into the incident progress.
