Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva has confirmed he will leave the club this summer when his contract expires, ending a remarkable nine-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, according to BBC Sport.
The 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder has been a key figure under Pep Guardiola since joining from AS Monaco in 2017. Widely regarded as one of Guardiola’s most reliable players, Silva played a pivotal role during the most successful period in the club’s history.
During his time at Manchester City, Silva won 19 major trophies and made 451 appearances across all competitions, ranking him among the club’s top 10 all-time appearance makers.
In a heartfelt farewell message, Silva expressed gratitude to fans, saying he hopes they felt “proud and well represented” by his performances. “I arrived as a Man City player,” he said. “I leave as one more of you, a Man City supporter for life.”
