The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the full digitisation of the authentication and evaluation of academic credentials, marking a major step in the Federal Government’s push for improved transparency and efficient service delivery.
In a press release dated April 15, 2026, the Ministry said the process has now been fully automated, allowing applicants to complete all verification procedures online.
The move is part of broader efforts to strengthen data management, ensure integrity in academic records, and support evidence-based decision-making within the education sector.
According to the Ministry, all applications for credential authentication and evaluation will henceforth be processed exclusively through its official verification portal. Applicants are required to register on the platform and upload all necessary supporting documents.
The Ministry also directed applicants to liaise with their respective institutions to have academic transcripts sent directly from official institutional email addresses to its designated verification email for processing.
It emphasized that physical visits to its offices for verification are no longer required, as the entire process has been migrated to a digital platform.
The development aligns with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda, aimed at improving efficiency, reducing processing time, and enhancing the credibility of academic credential verification in Nigeria.
The Ministry urged all applicants to comply strictly with the new guidelines to ensure smooth and timely processing of their applications, while directing further enquiries to its official support channels.
