The Women’s Wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has reaffirmed its commitment to unity and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At a familiarisation meeting held on Friday, April 24, 2025, at the party secretariat in Woji GRA, Port Harcourt, women leaders from all 23 local government areas gathered to strategise and strengthen the party’s structures.
The meeting was led by the State Women Leader, Irene Kaladappa Jumbo, who urged members to remain united, fearless, and focused on achieving electoral success. She emphasised teamwork, loyalty, and collective responsibility, calling on members to set aside personal differences.
“ADC must be on the ballot come 2027,” she said, adding that the women’s wing would support whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer, as well as all ADC candidates.
Also addressing the gathering, the outgoing State Chairman, Sampson Leader, stressed the importance of unity and love within the party. He assured the women of his continued support and encouraged them to work closely with the incoming leadership.
In his remarks, Chairman-elect Chukwudi Dimpka echoed similar sentiments, urging members to sustain unity while intensifying grassroots mobilization and membership registration to boost the party’s chances in future elections.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by ADC women in Rivers State to strengthen the party’s structure and work collaboratively toward victory in 2027.
