The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has accused the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of alleged corruption in the sale of ministerial appointments and recruitment opportunities in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The council also urged Nigerians to hold the All Progressives Congress (APC) accountable in the 2027 general election, arguing that another four years under the ruling party would worsen economic hardship, poverty and insecurity.
The ADC-PCC made the allegations while reacting to comments attributed to President Tinubu’s spokesperson, Alwan Hassan, suggesting that ministers paid to secure appointments to their respective ministries.
In a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, the council faulted the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, for his response to the remarks, accusing the ruling party of attempting to mislead Nigerians instead of addressing the allegations.
Ologbondiyan said the comments attributed to Hassan raised serious questions about the integrity of ministerial appointments and accountability in the Tinubu administration.
He further alleged that corruption and institutional failures had affected the operations of ministries, directorates and government agencies.
The ADC-PCC spokesman also criticised the administration’s performance, alleging that it had failed to fulfil its promises to Nigerians in the last three and a half years.
He questioned the implementation of federal budgets under the Tinubu administration, claiming that the President had not fully implemented a budget in the last three years.
The council further alleged that recruitment opportunities in MDAs were being sold to the highest bidders, insisting that the claims surrounding government appointments required transparent explanations and appropriate investigations where evidence of wrongdoing exists.
It also faulted the Presidency for what it described as its failure to publicly address the remarks attributed to Hassan, arguing that the silence had heightened public concerns.
The ADC-PCC called on Nigerians to use the 2027 general election to demand accountability and leadership change, citing economic hardship, rising poverty, insecurity and declining public confidence in government.
The statement reiterated the council’s position that Nigerians should reject the APC’s bid to return to power in 2027.
