Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of His Majesty, Eze (Sir) Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr Dagogo S. A. Wokoma disclosed this in a statement on Friday stating that the appointment takes immediate effect.
You can incorporate the political background into the story, but the connection between the recent peace deal and Awuse’s reinstatement should be presented as an observation rather than an established fact.
Awuse’s reinstatement comes against the backdrop of the political crisis that rocked Rivers State, during which he was removed as Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers.
His return to the position may also be linked to the recent peace efforts in the state, which have raised hopes of reconciliation and a return to political stability. However, the government’s announcement did not expressly state that his reinstatement was part of the peace agreement.
