The Citizens’ Youth Movement for Sim (CYM-S) has called on the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to seek re-election, citing what it described as his performance in office, commitment to stability, and ongoing infrastructure development across the state.
In a statement signed by its Secretary-General, ThankGod Esuuk, and Coordinator, Comrade Dagogo Achese, the group said its position followed a careful assessment of the administration, which it described as being focused on “progress, stability, and people-centred governance.” It added that despite political tensions in the state, the governor had consistently prioritised peace and governance over confrontation.
The group commended Fubara’s handling of political challenges, saying he had shown restraint and maturity in managing crises, which it said helped to preserve peace and sustain economic activities across Rivers State.
CYM-S also highlighted several infrastructure projects it attributed to the administration, including the Ahoada–Omoku Road, Egbeda–Omerelu Link Road, Elele–Egbeda–Ikiri–Omoku dual carriageway, Ikwerre Road–Igwuruta–Airport Road, the Port Harcourt Ring Road, and the Trans-Kalabari Road project amongst others.
The group reaffirmed that Governor Fubara had demonstrated capacity, patience, and commitment to service, stressing that his administration should be allowed to continue to build on existing foundations for the benefit of the state.
