The Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Council, Hon. Charles Wobodo, has pledged to construct residential quarters for health workers at the Omuanwa Primary Health Centre.
This was contained in a statement signed by Amb. Wali Chiwendu, Special Adviser on Media to the Chairman, and made available on Friday.
He said, Wobodo made the commitment during an inspection visit to the facility as part of his administration’s efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve health infrastructure across the local government area.
According to him, providing suitable accommodation for the resident doctor, nurses and other healthcare personnel would create a more conducive working environment and enhance effective healthcare delivery to residents of Omuanwa and neighbouring communities.
The chairman said his administration remained committed to improving primary healthcare facilities across Ikwerre LGA, with emphasis on infrastructure, essential facilities and the welfare of healthcare workers.
Wobodo stressed that accessible and functional primary healthcare was a key component of his administration’s people-oriented development agenda.
He assured residents that other health facilities across the local government would also receive the necessary attention and support.
