The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is still in touch with governance in the FCT despite being on holiday, his media aide, Lere Olayinka, has said.
Olayinka, in a statement, said Wike was taking time to rest and relax in preparation for the task ahead, particularly the completion of projects scheduled for commissioning between December 2026 and January 2027.
He said the minister’s absence from Abuja should not be interpreted as a gap in governance, stressing that Wike remained in touch with developments and continued to direct affairs in the FCT.
“He is still in that part of the world where he is relaxing and resting in readiness for the task of ensuring the completion of more than 10 projects for commissioning in December 2026 and January 2027,” Olayinka said.
