The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has taken a swipe at the Rivers State Government for concentrating on just two LGAs in the state in terms of infrastructural development.
Factional Spokesperson of the APC in the State, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke in a statement yesterday said Rivers State has 23 LGA’s and only two are receiving attention.
He said the bridges built in Obio-Akpor LGA would have been of more importance if they were built to connect the people in the hinterlands to the state capital.
“Those overheard bridges could be built elsewhere, connecting the people in the hinterland to the State capital. A bridge linking Borokiri to Okrika for instance would add more value. So would a bridge connecting Rumuolumeni to Ogbakiri or somewhere in the Kalabari areas,” he said.
“Our people want to get home. They have no roads. Somebody who is from the old Port Harcourt Local Government Area is busy developing present day Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor,” he added
He furthermore accused the state government of wasting resources on bribing of judges, police officers and INEC officials in other to undermine democratic institutions.
