Activist and co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, Aisha Yesufu, says her decision to venture into partisan politics is aimed at advancing her advocacy efforts rather than abandoning them.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Yesufu noted that while activists can raise awareness and demand accountability, politicians possess the constitutional power to implement change.
“Outside, yes, I do have a voice. But inside, I’ll be able to do a whole lot more,” she said.
She explained that her decision to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is a deliberate move aimed at contributing practical solutions to the challenges she has consistently spoken about over the years.
