Senate President Godswill Akpabio has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration did not promise Nigerians immediate miracles, but renewed hope.
Speaking on Friday during the inauguration of a seven-kilometre road and bridge project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Akpabio stated that the government remains committed to delivering “structural, calculated and deliberate progress” through President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
His comments come amid growing public concerns over the rising cost of living, largely linked to the removal of fuel subsidy and other economic reforms introduced by the administration.
According to the Senate President, the government’s policies are designed to achieve long-term results rather than quick fixes.
“When we came into office, we did not promise miracles that would appear from thin air. We promised structural, calculated and deliberate progress,” Akpabio said.
He added that the Renewed Hope Agenda was conceived to positively impact the lives of Nigerians, not only through economic indicators but also by addressing the realities of their everyday challenges.
