The Entrepreneur Centre of the University of Port Harcourt (UPEC), in partnership with Rivers Women Unite for Tinubu, has launched a skill acquisition programme aimed at empowering women across Rivers State.
The initiative, seeks to provide participants with practical vocational skills such as soap making, catering, tailoring, hairdressing, and driving.
Organisers revealed that the programme is designed to train 6,000 young women within six months, with a focus on fostering economic independence, self-reliance, and improved livelihoods.
The maiden edition, held at the university’s Entrepreneur Centre, attracted participants from all 23 local government areas of the state, with a notable turnout from Ahoada West, where many women actively engaged in the registration and training sessions.
