Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi says President Bola Tinubu is no longer the same leader who governed Lagos State, arguing that his administration has failed to provide the leadership needed to move Nigeria forward.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Obi called on President Tinubu to resign, insisting that the country is heading in the wrong direction under his leadership.
According to Obi, the President no longer has the capacity to transform Nigeria, describing him as exhausted and no longer fit to continue in office.
He argued that four years is enough time for a committed and capable leader to set a nation on the path of meaningful transformation, adding that he has the competence to begin redirecting Nigeria within six months if given the opportunity to lead.
Obi also promised to make the protection of lives and property a top priority, stressing that the foremost responsibility of any government is the security and welfare of its citizens.
He maintained that a true leader must be prepared to make every necessary sacrifice, including risking his own life, to ensure the safety and well-being of the people.
