President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze over his alleged involvement in the creation and operation of a fake government agency.
The agency, identified as the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, was uncovered by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, disclosed this on Friday while briefing State House correspondents after meeting with President Tinubu.
Aliyu said the discovery was made during an ongoing investigation into the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council operated by Adeyemi Matthew.
According to him, office space had been illegally allocated to the purported agency within the premises of the Office of the SGF.
The President also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries — M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah — in connection with the matter.
