President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, the mother of former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.
Dame Ezinne Mary Amaechi died at the age of 89, according to a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu described the late matriarch as a devoted Catholic whose life was defined by strong family values and a commitment to raising children dedicated to public service.
He said her life embodied the virtues of love, sacrifice, kindness, and perseverance, qualities that earned her the admiration of those who knew her.
The President urged the bereaved family to find comfort in the enduring legacy of faith, dignity, and service that Dame Amaechi left behind for her children, the Catholic Church, and society.
In his condolence message, Tinubu extended sympathies to Rotimi Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family, the Catholic faithful, and the government and people of Rivers State.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant comfort to all those mourning her passing.
