The Rivers State Government is set to organize a one-day compulsory sensitization programme, for all sand mining and dredging operators in the state.
The state Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ibiks Tamuno disclosed this in a signed statement.
He said the theme of the event which is “Guidelines for Dredging and Sand Mining” is expected to hold on Monday February 22, 2021, at the conference Hall of the state Ministry of Justice by 10:00 AM.
The event is been organized by the Department for Flood, Erosion Control and Coastal Zone Management, of the State Ministry of Environment.
He called on miners and dredgers in the state to attend the forum, stating that all COVID-19, protocols would be observed.
