The Rivers State Government has announced June 19, 2020 as deadline for the payment of shop rents for allottees of shops at the newly constructed Rumuwoji Market in Port Harcourt.
Commissioner for Housing, Elder Chinedu Tasie who disclosed this to journalists yesterday, said the deadline was reached to ensure quick opening of the market. He said anyone who fails to meet the stipulated deadline will have no other option than to forfeit the shop.
The commissioner who noted that the markets will be opened very soon said all those who still want shops, can apply and pay in three installments over a period of 6 months. He stressed that they will need to pay 40 percent of the agreed fee before the stipulated deadline.
