The Rivers State Police Command has pleaded with friends and family members of a Keke operator known as ‘school boy” who was killed by a Police Officer at Rukpokwu, Today, to remain calm and not result to violence as the situation is under control.
Spokesperson of the state command, Nnamdi Omoni made the plea in a statement today.
He said resorting to violence such as burning down police facilities and destruction of properties in the area would not solve the problem.
“We are pleading for calm to allow us to bring him to justice. Two wrongs can never make a wrong. The Keke driver has died and the man who killed him must receive his punishment,” he said.
“Killing a policeman or burning down a station cannot bring him back to life or give him justice, instead it will deteriorate the situation,” Omoni noted.
