A student of the Rivers State University (RSU), Glory Tochukwu, yesterday won the institution’s first gold medal at the ongoing NUGA Games at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), in the women’s discuss.
Glory Tochukwu, defeated Eucharia Ogbukwo of Kaduna State University (KASU), and Linda Nwago of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) to silver and bronze medals.
The 2022 NUGA GAMES kicked off at the University of Lagos on Saturday 19, 2022. About 136 universities are participating in the Games, which will last for seven days.
The events are football, athletics, badminton, hockey, cricket, chess, judo, swimming, karate, squash, handball, taekwondo, tennis amongst others.
Over ten thousand students and officials are participating in the games.
