The Rivers State Police Command has invited one of its officers identified as Salihu Kazeem and a 17-year-old girl involved in a rape incident.
The girl accused the officer of raping her in his apartment after promising to help secure a job for her. The officer, has denied the accusation, insisting that the girl consented to the sexual act.
Spokesperson of the state Police command, DSP, Grace Iringi Koko in a statement said the Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has invited both parties to his office
She said they are expected at the Police headquarters Today
She also said after hearing from them, a discreet investigation into the incident will begin and the outcome will be made known to the public.
“So, we are expecting them at the command today. I am sure after hearing from them, discreet investigation will begin and the outcome will be made known to the public. Whoever is found culpable will face the law,” she said.
