Seven suspects have been apprehended by the Police in Rivers State in connection with the abduction of the Managing Director of IGPES Oil and Gas Company at Rumuokoro flyover few days ago.
The attack led to the death of three Police escorts attached to the Managing Director.
The state commissioner of Police, Effiong Okon who made this known during a press briefing in Port Harcourt Today, said two of the suspects were killed during the arrest.
He said the suspects were apprehended in Bayelsa State and that investigation is on to arrest other members of the gang.
He revealed that the sum of one thousand seven hundred dollars paid as ransom for the release of the kidnapped MD was recovered from the suspects.
He also disclosed that arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
