The Rivers State Ministry of Education has announced that all primary and secondary schools in the state will resume for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, September 7, 2026.
The ministry, in a public interest announcement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mina Tele Ikuru, said all public and private schools are expected to commence academic and non-academic activities on the approved date.
It directed schools to operate in line with prescribed guidelines and urged private schools to strictly adhere to the government-approved academic calendar for the new session.
The ministry called on school proprietors, administrators, parents and guardians to take note of the resumption date and ensure compliance.
