Women under the aegis of Rivers Women Unite for SIM (RWUS) have restated their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political direction, while urging residents to promote peace, unity and shared responsibility for the continued development of Rivers State.
The group made the declaration during its monthly prayer meeting held on Thursday at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt. The event brought together members from the 23 local government areas of the state to offer prayers for peace, stability and Nigeria’s progress.
Speaking at the gathering, Leader of the group, Amaopuorubo Sotonye Toby Fulton, encouraged members to remain steadfast in prayer, noting that their collective efforts had helped sustain peace and prevent crises in the state.
She said the group’s prayers had consistently contributed to averting violence while fostering spiritual growth and attracting divine blessings for members.
Fulton also reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering support for Governor Fubara, stating that RWUS would continue to align with and back his political direction.
The group further pledged to strengthen women’s economic empowerment through skills acquisition and trade support initiatives, describing the programmes as vital to improving livelihoods across Rivers State.
