The Rivers State Government, has received one hundred and other fifty thousand doses of the Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
According to reports, the state Commissioner for Health, Princewill Chike received the vaccines which arrived the state yesterday, on behalf of the state government.
The vaccines are expected to be administered to residents of the state.
Meanwhile, the Ikwerre local Government Council, has confirmed receiving doses of the vaccines.
Chairman of the Council, Samuel Nwanosike disclosed this in a statement yesterday.
Nwanosike said he and his family members will receive the jab, as he called on residents to make themselves available for it.
He commended the Federal and State Governments, for their efforts in the fight against the dreaded virus, which has killed millions of persons, globally.
